shafiq, edwin, keshan, justin, lim mao fong were 5 names who were to form the ambulance cadet team for 2010. As how i still am able to remember clearly, we all stood in a line under the glaring sun at noon, showing the rest of the division who were we. we all came from different backgrounds and the total opposites. We had the most outspoken dude and the dude which kept most things to himself, the dude who was a game freak,a dude lil' low on his self confidence, and a dude who was technically neutral. Reflecting back, we have really gone a long long long way to where we are now. Went through with loads of conflicts and quarrels and heartaches. Who can forget the screwing? the marks shall remain there to remind us of our journey together, how we transformed into a team finally when we went for states.
Through this experience, i've gained more than i've asked for. frankly speaking, i did not even want to join the team a year ago. Through it, it has changed us. It thought us to learn to trust the men who were in the line beside you with your life and never once doubt them of their abilities. Even during the district level comp, though we seemed like we were a team, deep deep down, we had real problems trusting each other in almost everything we did. We did not show it, we kept it in the dark recessions of our minds. This was the barrier we had to break. And i supposed we showed what we were made of at the states. We finally blossomed into a team, or more, a band of brothers. During the cases, finally, strangers saw who this bunch of dudes were. We weren't just a ordinary team, but one willing to vouch and defend each other. That moment till this morning, i still clearly remember, even though they screwed our long case, but there was one thing that made them sit up. It was the great teamwork and synergy between us. It made that very judge who screwed us stand in awe of it. It also thought us to believe in each other and channel our anger not towards each other but towards them. And i guess it showed finally in our Kawat kaki event. Little did anyone know, during our kawat trainings, we had doubted our mates more than we had trust them and believed in them. It was why we had done below par.
But on that very afternoon, we finally learn the significance of trust and believe. It was proven through the gold we won in that event. It also showed that even though we were struck down, we weren't destroyed. All in all good job my bros from another mother. We did well. Though i know we would miss the whole big family now, but it's alright, we shall win the CIC Cup with them in spirit. We have come a long way, And you shall see more of us, it's not the end. Our time has not come yet, but i smell it coming very soon.
Now, talking bout my extended family, my bros and sisters from the other catergories, you guys rock the world! Great Job! We did not stop believing that all 4 teams could go through and it really came close to being fulfilled. My hat's off to you guys. Team JB rockss. We know that trainings will never be the same without us, hehe. but we'll try to put in a couple of surprise visits.
